Roof extension and loft conversion on detached home in Walton on Thames, Surrey

Bespoke oak beam detailing in residential extension
Oakfields,
Walton on Thames,
Surrey
Completed in two carefully considered phases, this residential extension in Walton-on-Thames was designed to replace an outdated conservatory and transform the way the family lived within the home and garden.
The new rear extension creates additional ground floor living space while strengthening the connection to the outdoors. Repositioning the extension allowed us to maximise natural sunlight throughout the day while also creating a more private and sheltered outdoor terrace for the family to enjoy.
Exposed oak beams introduce warmth, character and a heightened sense of volume, bringing a timeless quality to the contemporary family space.
Alongside the architectural works, the project also involved full reconfiguration and interior design of the ground floor. The scheme reflects our holistic approach to residential design, where architecture, interiors and lifestyle are considered together to create spaces that feel cohesive, elegant and effortless to live in.
As part of the long-term vision for the property, Phase Three included securing planning permission for a new roof extension and loft conversion to create a stunning master suite. Designed as a private retreat within the home, the proposal introduces a generous bedroom, bespoke dressing space and luxurious en-suite, while carefully integrating the new extension into the character of the existing property.
